The Strength of Sacrifice

by Marissa Rubin

“Sacrifices move people.  They melt people.  They stop people in their tracks…”

“Think about it.  Sometimes authenticity fails to grab people’s attention; compassion is occasionally written off as the opiate of do-gooders who may have some ulterior motive.  But sacrifice, motivated by genuine love and concern, is extremely difficult to discount.  It just screams for a response of some kind, which is probably a large part of why Jesus lived such a sacrificial life and then called us to follow in His steps.”
